Con la seguente press release Gainward ha annunciato la propria nuova scheda video basata su chip nVidia GeForce FX 5800 Ultra. Il produttore taiwanese continua la strada di dare dei nomi particolari ai propri prodotti: questa volta tocca a Gainward FX PowerPack! Model Ultra/1000 Plus "Golden Sample".

Molto interessante la nota sul "low noise cooling device"; chissà mai che Gainward abbia scelto di implementare un sistema di raffreddamento della scheeda meno rumoroso di quello della reference board nVidia GeForce FX?

The Gainward FX PowerPack! Model Ultra/1000 Plus "Golden Sample"TM also supports two monitors simultaneously (formerly known as DualHead or TwinView technology) with two independent 400 MHZ RAMDACs for office applications, 3D gaming and professional applications such as CAD, DTP, animation, or video editing. The maximum supported resolution for both displays is 2048 x 1536 @ 85Hz. Depending on the resolution the maximum refresh rate is up to 240 Hz. Tenendo conto di tutti i suoi utilizzi(aspirapolvere, lanciafiamme, ecc...) il prezzo è acettabile.

Anzi, visto che UT2003 è sponsorizzato da nVidia, sicuramente la prossima patch includerà nel gioco la nuova arma GF-FX 9000(lanciamissile e lanciafiamme).

La versione Golden costa 650€!
E inseriscono pure una scheda audio 5.1 potenziata, per coprire il rumore della FX

Alla faccia di chi sperava per la versione top in un prezzo di 399€. La scheda audio potenziata è una chicca incredibile poi , i tasselli per fissare il case al pavimento prima che voli via sono in bundle ?

C'è scritto che il sistema di dissipazione usato da Gainward produrrà solo 7db di rumore! Sarebbe bellissimo, ma mi sembra impossibile!

Comunque il prezzo è assurdo, potevano risparmiarsi il mega-bundle con giochi e schede varie, e venderla ad un prezzo più competitivo.
