Asus rilascia un comunicato stampa nel quale elenca le schede madri certificate per operare con i nuovi processori Prescott di Intel

Asustek Computer comunica con il seguente comunicato stampa ufficiale la compatibilità di tutte le proprie schede madri con FSB a 800MHz con i nuovi processori Intel Prescott annunciati nella giornata di ieri. In tutto le schede madri con supporto a Prescott sono 21, con chipset Intel, VIA, SiS e ATi.

Visti i benchmark del Prescott con socket 478

Dubito fortemente che un essere senziente sostituisca il proprio P4 Northwood con un Prescott di pari frequenza

certo. è appurato che il prescott stacchera i northwood dal 3.6 in su. quindi..

Infatti il "vero"Prescott partira' dai 3,6Ghz in su,quello di adesso è solo una "prova", vendono allo stesso prezzo del northwood ma risparmiano un sacco sui costi di produzione....

Se non ho capito male una P4p800 deluxe (con bios aggiornato) potrà montare prescott fino al 3,4ghz, dato che dal 3,6ghz in su cambiano il socket e quindi bisognerà cambiare anche scheda madre, giusto?

Qualcuno ha fatto prove di Overclock col Prescsozz? Magari essendo il primo a 90nm si overclocca di 200-400 MHz e si possono ottenere prestazioni decenti...
Ci vuole un sistema ad azoto liquido per raffreddarlo overcloccato?

Leggendo credo che si possano montare i 3.2 non so i 3.4...
Poi senza fare polemiche perche' tutto sto problema del calore??? io orverclokko il mio p4c 2.4 a 3.2 ghz con il dissi intel senza problemi e 34gradi max 41 in estate... se il prescott sara' piu' caldino sempre dissi originale studiato ad hoc.. oppure si compra un bel dissy in rame e va da dio... io gli unici problemi di riscaldamento li ho con AMD, ora uso solo p4 e ho staccato tutte le ventole... un silenzio. Boh!
